The 1981 release, ‘Bansuri’ (Flute) is the debut movie of Tulsi Ghimire in the Nepali movie industry. The movie was produced by a Bengali named Mohan Kumar Bannerjee. The music of the movie was composed by Ranjit Gazmer.

The director Tulsi Ghimire told that the movie was made possible by his promise to his Guru to direct ten Nepali movies. The movie was very successful and was released in various Indian cities. The songs like ‘Darjeeling ko Sano Rail…’ had been vary popular among children.
